Case Study Invisalign
Duncan is one of our patients. He explained to us that he felt overly conscious of his teeth when he speaks and also when he smiles. Although this wasn’t something that he viewed as a major issue, it was still something that he would like to change if he could.
Due to the crowding on Duncan’s teeth, he needed an Invisalign Full treatment. His treatment plan required 24 sets of aligners and took 12 months to complete.
Duncan also had a smaller than usual front tooth on the left side. So we used a very small amount of composite to build up this tooth so that aesthetically it looked the same as the tooth on the opposite side.
We finished Duncan’s treatment with a course of complimentary teeth whitening. The final result was an amazing transformation.

More about Invisalign
What is Invisalign
Invisalign is a revolutionary orthodontic treatment that uses clear plastic aligners to gently move your teeth into a healthier and aesthetically pleasing position.
The treatment starts by scanning your teeth with a 3D scanner. This creates a model of your teeth as they are right now. Invisalign then use this model to simulate how your teeth could look should you decide to go ahead with the treatment. This gives you an amazing before and after picture of your teeth to help you decide if Invisalign is the right treatment for you.
Should you decide to go ahead, Invisalign use this model to create a series of clear plastic aligners that fit over your teeth. You change them every two weeks yourself at home, and each set gradually moves your teeth into their new position.
The final result is an amazing new smile that you can be proud of.
How Long Does Invisalign Take?
Invisalign treatment times can vary depending on whether you require major or minor movement to achieve your desired smile.
In simple cases, it may take just 14 weeks. For more complex treatments where you need greater movement, it may last up to 18 months.
After you have completed your scan appointment, we will be able to provide you with more information on how long Invisalign will take for you, and how many clear aligners you may need.
How Much Does Invisalign Cost?
The price of Invisalign depends on the amount of movement your teeth require. Three different levels of Invisalign are available:
Invisalign i7
Invisalign i7 is the entry level Invisalign treatment. If your teeth only require minor movement this will likely be the treatment for you. It is called i7 because you are provided with seven sets of clear aligners to complete the treatment. Prices start from £1,500, or just £22 per month.
Invisalign Lite
Invisalign Lite is for medium cases where the teeth require a moderate level of movement. When more movement is required you will need more sets of clear aligners and therefore Invisalign Lite uses 14 sets of clear aligners to complete the treatment. Prices start from £2,950, or £51 per month.
Invisalign Full
Invisalign Full was the breakthrough Invisalign treatment first designed to treat major cases of teeth straightening. This is a bespoke treatment so there is no fixed number of clear aligners. This means you can carry on making adjustments until you are satisfied. Prices start from £3,350 or £59 per month.
How Does Invisalign Work?
Invisalign is a fantastic treatment that uses, almost invisible, clear plastic aligners that fit over your teeth to gently move them into their desired position.
Every two weeks you change the clear aligners for a new set, with each set moving your teeth a little more each time.
You will require regular check-ups with your dentist to make sure the treatment is going according to plan.
The total treatment time of Invisalign will depend on the movement required. As each case is different, the best way to find out is to take advantage of one of our free consultations.
Tell me about the FREE Consultation?
Your free consultation is your chance to meet us and explain what you would like to change about your teeth, and why you are considering Invisalign. You’ll have the opportunity to ask us questions about the cost, how long Invisalign will take, and which treatment might be right for you. Our treatment coordinator is an expert and has seen hundreds of cases over the years. This means they will be able to give you some great advice on the right treatment plan for you.
What is an Invisalign Scan Appointment?
The Invisalign scan appointment is the second step in your Invisalign journey. During this appointment we use the latest Invisalign digital scanner to take a virtual impression of your teeth as they are right now. The system then carefully models how your teeth could look if you decide to go ahead with the Invisalign treatment. This means there is no need for any messy impressions to be taken if you choose to proceed.
You will leave the appointment with great 3D before and after images of your teeth, and also a detailed treatment plan to consider.
What are Invisalign Attachments?
Invisalign attachments are usually referred to as buttons. These small buttons are fitted to your teeth to help the clear aligners move your teeth more efficiently. They are not needed on every tooth and in some cases, not needed at all.
They look nothing like a traditional brace, so don’t worry. If you need Invisalign attachments, they will be very small and the same colour as your teeth. This means that most people won’t even notice them.
What are Invisalign Braces?
Invisalign braces are a bit of a misconception. Invisalign is an orthodontic treatment that replaces the need for braces. Braces are the traditional ‘train track’ fittings on the outside of the teeth. They are still very common for teenagers. However, the clear choice for adults is usually always Invisalign.
Invisalign Near Me?
Our practices are in the heart of Oakgrove, Milton Keynes, Cheltenham, Buckingham, St. Albans and Northampton with more locations coming on board every week.
What are Invisalign retainers and Aligners?
Invisalign retainers and aligners are essentially the same things, they are just different names for them. Officially they are called ‘aligners’ and are used to describe the clear plastic moulds that fit over your teeth. During treatment, you change them every two weeks for a new set. Each set slowly moves your teeth into their new position. So, whether you say retainers or aligners or aligners or retainers, both will work for you and provide the smile you’re looking for.
